Laundry Room Make-Over!!!

At our house, I do not have the privilege of having a laundry room that's inside our living area. It was an after-thought many years ago, when they enclosed a porch area on the side/back of the house. So, the place where I wash my clothes is called by many names: mud room, back porch, wash room. It's also the place where something goes if it doesn't have a home! So, in the photos you will notice that over time this place had become a WRECK!! I mean a TOTAL TRAIN WRECK!!! I knew I wanted to do something to it and it was going to have to happen fast because cold weather is coming, and there is no heat out there! So, one night, when I couldn't fall asleep, I got this wild idea that I would paint it and put up some new curtains and stuff. The next morning, I informed Joe of my plans, and he was a little shocked but ok with it!
So off to Wal Mart I ran and made my paint purchase and came back home to get started. We worked half a day on Saturday, Monday evening and all day on Tuesday. Joe finally finished up last night with some little stuff, and now it's DONE!!! Well, all except painting the floor and the ceiling, basically because we're out of money!!! Know how that is??

So, here are the photos. I would like to get an enclosed cabinet for my laundry stuff, but like I said, no more $$$ right now. That might be on my Christmas list, we'll see. Hope you like it, I sure do!!! :):)

My dad happened to come by and I roped him into spray painting the metal cabinet above the washer and dryer.

The boys were "compelled" to help me!!! They were fairly willing!

I added some cute accents that I found at Hobby Lobby.

I used some greenery and flowers to hide the wires and "stuff" that comes from the breaker box, and I think it turned out pretty cute!
